My name is Donna Katzing. I was baptized, confirmed, and married in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and have been a member all my life. I earned a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Missouri State University (UCM). I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in education and an Associate of Science degree in child development. I have been teaching children for over thirty years. Twenty-four of those years were spent in kindergarten. My training from various workshops are in the following areas: project construct, reading for success, literacy model, math their way, and investigations in math as well as the more traditional basal reading and math programs. All of these programs have helped to make me a strong, well-rounded teacher. I am very knowledgeable of the kindergarten child and truly love to teach them!

I am originally from Emma, Missouri where I was born and raised. I am the third of four children. I am also an uncle to two nieces and two nephews.

At Concordia I majored in Secondary Education and received a B.S. Degree in Social Science and a B.A. in Geography.During my time at Concordia I also met my girlfriend Erin during my junior year and we have been together for over a year.

Mathew 20:28 says “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” Christ Himself modeled for us the true characteristics of a teacher, and that is to serve. I look forward to someday being able to teach the good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to God’s children. What not a better way to spend my time on earth than serving God’s people.

In my free time I enjoy the outdoors, especially fishing and hiking. I enjoy sports of all kinds and participated in many intramurals at Concordia. I also enjoy spending quality time with family and friends.

I look forward to what God has in store for my future.
