GRADES 3 & 4

March 19, 2018

Dear Parents and Students,

It's STILL All About Jesus”!

This is our last week of school before our Easter break. We will be focusing on the events of Holy Week during our religion lessons this week. There are many worship opportunities, including this Wednesday Lenten service, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and then the celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus on Easter Sunday! May this be a time of repentance and rejoicing in the forgiveness earned for us by our Savior's suffering and death on the cross for our sins.

Share Time this Friday will be for the 4th graders.

The spelling list is attached to this note. Fourth graders will write the first 8 words in cursive and learn 3 challenge words. Third graders will learn the first 4 words in cursive. Test is on Friday.

We will be having a SCIENCE TEST ON WEDNESDAY of this week. Review sheet will come home on Tuesday.

We wish Isabelle a very happy birthday on Wednesday. God bless you always!

There will be Flag Corp practice this week on Monday at 3:00.

Your child brought home a postcard packet from SchoolStore.com. On Thursday. Please fill these cards out and return them to school this week.

This Friday, March 23, we will have a presentation from “Lead a Child” organization at 9:00 a.m. You are welcome to attend.

Mr. Grass would like all BASKETBALL UNIFORMS turned in by Friday.

The next written book report will be due on April 27.

We are still collecting BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION and BEST CHOICE LABELS. There is a collection box inside the hallway at the south entrance. This is a simple way to help our school earn money. Our last earning was about $400! So thank you for saving these labels for us!!

Our school TALENT SHOW is going to be on Friday, May 4. So if you are interested in sharing your talent, start practicing!!

Our class will be taking a FIELD TRIP on Wednesday, May 16 to Arrow Rock, Missouri. Students will explore the natural history of Arrow Rock by going on a guided nature hike of the Missouri River Landing Trail. They will learn about current and historic plant and animal life and the natural resources of Arrow Rock. Along the way we will visit a freshwater spring and stream that provided water years ago, and still flows into the Missouri River today. We will also tour several historic buildings in the town and visit the museum. Our time frame will be 8:00-3:00, a regular school day. Students will need to bring sack lunch that day. DRIVERS ARE ALSO NEEDED. So if you are interested in joining us that day and helping with transportation, check your calendars for May 16. More information will follow closer to the date. If you know for sure you would like to be a driver/chaperone , you can let me know any time.
