Bible Lessons for this week: God Gives Hannah a Son (1 Samuel 1-2), God Calls Samuel (1 Samuel 3)

 

Memory Work: Please take the time to help your child memorize the assigned verses.

Tues., Oct. 23: Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. Psalm 50:15

Thurs., Oct. 25: [Jesus said,] Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it.” Luke 11:28

Tues., Oct. 30: [Jesus said,] “Whoever is of God hears the words of God.” John 8:47

 

First Grade Spelling Words: ant, jump, tent, bump, went, plant. Challenge words: pants, saw

Second Grade Spelling Words: milk, neck, snake, truck, kick, smoke, rock, desk, lake, trick, clock, ask. Challenge words: pocket, whiskers.

 

Happy Birthday to Ruby. Her birthday is October 24. God’s blessings, Ruby!

 

Science: Each student will be making a diorama as part of our study of habitats. A shoe box or any box of similar size will be needed. A cereal box or file folder may also be used. A note with further information will come home later this week.

 

Preschool-Grade 4 will be attending a play at SFCC on Friday, November 16. The play is at 8:45 a.m. Drivers will be needed, so please let me know if you will be able to transport children. A permission slip will be sent home closer to the date.

 

Chapel offerings:  Our offerings for October will be given to provide supplies for use by volunteers and homeowners in the work of disaster recovery and restoration in North Carolina for those suffering from the damage done by Hurricane Florence.

 

Scrip: You may support our school by purchasing SCRIP cards. These are "gift" cards that you spend at businesses, and a percentage of the purchase price comes back to our school. Talk to Ms. Janice in the office, and she will tell you which cards she has in stock. She can also order cards that are not in stock. Just stop by the office to talk to Ms. Janice and support St. Paul's Lutheran School.

 

If you do not have a Church home, you are invited to join us at St. Paul's for worship. Saturday evening services are at 5:30. Sunday morning worship is at 9:00, followed by Sunday School and Bible Classes for high school youth and adults.

 

Please remember to return all catalog orders from Kleinhenn today, Monday, October 22. Checks should be made payable to St. Paul’s PTL. All money must be collected before turning in orders on the 22nd. The goal is for all merchandise to be delivered and given to students for distribution before Thanksgiving break. Thanks for supporting our school!
